My favorite movies and books

" .. a good book in a good place is a wonderful way to spend time .. "

"... and a good seat at the cinema while watching a good movie is another good way .. "

I love to read books and watch movies, I read tons of books and I am still reading, I always keep an eye to every new movie that comes out.

One good thing about the time I have to spend while traveling back and forth from home to job is I use train and while in the train I can read (and often take a nap too :D).

About books I have some "limited" gender preferences, I like to read horror tales (old), "yellow books" (crime novels), some sci-fi, some "classics", technical books, science book and math books.

About movies I really don't have a "preferred gender", here I can range real wide from "silly" movies to "very deep" movies.

In short my "philosophy" about movies and books is "I watch it and then I decide if I liked it or not" I give a look to movies reviews but I usually don't care much about them.

I give you a list of some books and writers I really enjoyed much, if you know some similar authors writing the same kind of tales I will appreciate if you drop me a line suggesting me some other books to read.

For the movies follow the link "movies" that will bring you to another page where I added some of my comments to them, of course they are personal opinions you can like or not them but please don't blame for that, I am not a movies reviewer :)

Authors and books

H.P. Lovecraft I read almost anything he wrote, I really found some of his tales really impressive.
Edgar Allan Poe Again I think I read almost all he wrote, I really liked much "The mystery of Marie Roget"
E.T.A Hoffmann I read some of his tales, really liked them
Gustav Meyrink Same as above he wrote some really nice tales, one of my preferred is "Die Pflanzen des Dr. Cinderella"
Nathaniel Hawthorne I read something in a paperback collection, really nice.
Henry James, Harold Lawlor
Mary Freeman, Dorothy Quick
Ambrose Bierce
I found an economical collection containing a mix of different ghosts stories wrote by them, really good.
Gilbert Keith Chesterton I really like a lot "The club of  the Queer Trades"
Conan Doyle Thanks to a friend that rent me his books I think I almost read everything he wrote :)
He's one of my favorite authors.
Lewis Carroll Of course I read "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" who did not ;) ?
Stefano Benni Unfortunately I am not sure if there are English translations of his books "Bar Sport" and "Il bar sotto il mare" you should read them :)
Ulrich Jaudas
Matthew M. Vriends
I recommend to every goat lover his book "The New Goat Handbook" really a well done book with nice illustrations.
Gail Damerow I like his book "Your Goats, A kid's guide to raising and showing", it's'  "kids oriented" but covers some quite practical questions and answers.
RS Components Catalog It's not exactly a book to read but I love to watch it over and over planning different things in mind with all the products I see on it :)
Clifford A. Pickover I found really nice his book "Computers, Pattern, Chaos and Beauty" see my "art" section to see what I did
IEEE and ACM Transactions on Graphics I was an avid reader of them while in the university, for some time I have been an IEEE member as well and bought some book :) I love their articles.
