Why I am on the internet ?

"( I hate you and I love you )"

In a single sentence I can say 
"to meet new people".

Well ... of course the sentence above can sound quite strange.

A lot of people would say that using internet to meet some real life  people is not working and can be dangerous.

After  what happened to me I can say I agree 70% with such sentence BUT I am also very much ready to say "sometime it works".

I think one reason why often this does not work is because most of "internet people" want to be "internet people only".

They like to return back home,  turn on their pc and find they online friends, that is all they need, they don't look for an RL contact.

Well, I can tell you  for granted a "real" relationship cannot be built when internet is the only way you have to be in contact with someone.

Some things you get to know/understand them only with real life contact.

But is very much true also that often internet is the ONLY place where you can start looking for something .. or better someone ... to share some specific interests you have.

Of course internet is "the world" so you can maybe find  what you look for, but the probability you will find it just next door is a number quite low and close to zero.

So internet, if you are using it for such purpose can very soon turn into a kind of "double blade sword".

It can turn to be like watching things behind a glass, you see them, you can interact a bit with them but they are out of your reach ...

It can also turn into a big source of doubts and "what ifs" that could never have an answer.

In short it can happen you'll obtain a source of  pain rather  than a source of happiness, of course it all depends what you are looking for and what you hope.

People in real life meet each other usually by some random facts and then they maybe end up in discovering they have some commons things they can share together and they form a couple.

Internet allows us to perform a kind of "inverse  process" (compared to above)  you look for something specific you hope to find in someone and then you hope that what you found would be interested in meeting you ...  

Internet allows you to search for something ..

Anyway you often can't understand exactly what you found ... sometime it can take a lot to really understand what came out from your search.

We can discuss a lot if this approach to internet use is "correct/good" or not but allow me to say this:

I think that if you look for something, it can't be so wrong you directly look for it rather than "live your life, do things and maybe one day you'll find it where you won't expect"

Sure, it can happen, but .. I think depends also on what you look for ... some things, are really NOT so easy to find and they won't come to you "just because".

Anyway sometime internet works ...

I met some people that turned out be real good and deep friends too :)

And I also found things I would never expect to find ..
